    ... mainland was a bit disappointing.Band of gypsies living behind hotel,great!! Went over to Venice for dinner tonight.Water taxi then beautiful dinner in lovely restaurant with whole group.Then walked around and saw St Marks square at night (awesome).Private water taxi back to bus.Venice at night was so beautiful. Hard to believe we're really here!! Next morning into Venice again ...

    Having been around the traps when we arrived in Feltre looking for new walking shoes for me, knew the deal for Paul. Once found, he walked out in them, ready to go.     The reason for choosing this walk was to see the Fojaroi, stone buildings against a hillside with a roof of beech twigs and leaves. What is unusual here is that the twigs are " gathered during the last waning moon of the month of August before the leaves have begun to dry". This ensures that the twigs keep their leaves when bundled and placed on the roof. Similar system to the english thatch. If done properly, the roof can remain ...

    Out to look for new playing cards. The cards that have served us so well since we began travelling didn't survive the drenching, inspite of Pauls care in drying them out. Had a slow walk around town, stopping for a coffee and sprtiz on the way home.

    ... as early as anticipated. Revine Lago was chosen as it was around a lake, a gentle stroll to ease the gluts back into the idea of moving without pain.

    TT decided the route via Trichiana was best, and as we hadn't been over the mountain range at this point, thought why not. The rain began before we reached Trichiana. Continued anyway.
