... and though a strange thing to say, but for a place connected with death it was surprisingly appealing and beautiful. Before catching the shutle back to the car, we strolled down Getreidegasse, a traditional shopping street in the Old Town, including the birthplace of Mozart’s, that most famous of Salzburg`s sons. As well as tourist shops, there are also several western brands, including McDonalds, but most charmingly they have a little brass ...

It was more of a proper alpine restaurant rather than a quaint hut, but we were just happy to have some food. I had spinach ravioli, and Jess had a platter of various sliced meats, cheeses and bread. At one point we reached a spot where work crews were building a new road - but at that moment it was only wide enough for one vehicle - so they had those roadworks ...

Where Eagles Dare

... in a short period. Many of the prominent Nazi buildings have been destroyed but the tour still shows how the mountain was littered with Nazis. I am grateful I could experience the Eagles Nest and all the history behind it! It was a rather quiet last evening in Austria. I made my preparations for tomorrow and wanted a quiet evening. I hungout with Matt and a few Americans to watch the soccer match and then the sound of music. Tomorrow: Munich, ...
