Wow. Today I visited las Cataratas de Iguazu. It might be the most amazing thing I have ever seen. I was up early after a really nice night at the Hotel Riotropic. My hotel is in a bit of an inconvenient location, but the reward for navigating the washboard road is a quiet retreat in the jungle. After me noisy apartment in Buenos Aires, I loved falling asleep with only the sounds of crickets around me. I walked the .6 km from the hotel to the bus (colectivo) that makes the trip to the Nationa...

Puerto Iguazu, Litoral, Argentina sebou... in Iguazu, and there is “something for everyone.” If beautiful is small, cramped, and all black walls, then yes, it was beautiful. And if by “something for everyone” they meant a small dance club for locals only, then yes, it was that too... Nevertheless, the only 3 Gringos in the club, and for that matter probably the surrounding 5 blocks, tear up the dance floor until the wee hours of the morning and have a fantasatic time. On our way out I get to experience the ...
Puerto Iguazu, Argentina mikey_james... girls from the previous pool turned up in a rather delightful thong bikini. We did a lot of staring. In contrast, something that rather violated our vision was the sight of a tall , bald German man with a ludicrous pointy beard wandering about in a pair of hideously tight black Speedos. My eyyyyes!

In the evening there was another BBQ, again with a myriad of meats. We got talking to a nice bloke from New Zealand called Alan, who reminded me of Bill Murray, just ...
Puerto Iguazu, Argentina alastair611th - 15th August 2009

Left Salta, Uruguay to head back into Argentina on the 11th. The border crossings here are much simpler affairs than in Asia, in this case we got a 1hr bus to Concordia in Argentina, and the bus stopped at the immigration post, we all queued up and got our stamps out of Uruguay, then back into Argentina, Bob`s Your Uncle job done. We waited at the bus station for 5 hrs until the onward leg of our Journey to Puerto Iguazu in the North East. The bus was 45 ...
Puerto Iguazu, Litoral, Argentina garyjampot... are evacuated at the end of the season. The attractive female pilot promises to go back for the dogs, but because of the weather she is unable to. Paul is pretty upset and gives her the cold shoulder for a while. He is unable to convince anyone to take the risky journey back to Antartica that winter. So he goes back to the states and teaches kayaking at a kiddie camp. He still thinks about the dogs a lot but has pretty much resigned himself to not being ...
Iguazu Falls, Argentina belahanratty... campsite in Brazil was at a place called Foz, the closest town in proximity to Iguazu Falls, a beautiful area where approximately 270 waterfalls all pour into the same valley. We were very excited about this and planned to see both the Brazilian and Argentinean sides of the falls over the next couple of days and get involved in few of the other optional activities in the area while we were at it resulting in some very packed days out. At the campsite we ...
Iguazu Falls, Argentina samsonite32... Park which is a national park and a UNESCO world heritage site. First part of tour was a 4 x 4 jeep ride through the park. Its the most bio diverse park in all of Argentina so it is very important to them and hence is protected. There are over 60 species of wildcat if I heard correctly and I read in Lonely Planet one year a puma or a jaguar killed one of the park rangers children - horrendous but thankfully we didnt have any encounters.

We ...
