Not a bad place to spend the night...

... was out for their evening passeo - walk. The gelateria's and cafes were overflowing with people. I spied a deli with a spit raosted pig lying on display in the window and got the best pork sandwich ever!!! Too late to go on we decided to park up. We had accidentially drained our leisure battery so Kim had to cook by torch but the torch battery was running out..so no other choice, we headed for a bar! Life's tough.

Vatican City

The next morning, we decided we should sleep in just a little! :) We headed to the cafe we went to the morning before for our usual cappuccino and pastry. These two things are by far my favorites so far in Italy...even better than pizza! Then, rather than making our way to the Vatican like good little girls, we stopped at an outdoor market to do a little shopping! The outdoor market was pretty big, but it had the most delicious fruit ever! After ...

Day 11 - Vatican City

... a chubby old italian guy in an apron who introduced himself as 'Don Vito Corleone, the biggest mafioso in all of Italy'. Of course we decided to sit down and he immediately showed us an LA Times article giving his little restaurant a great review. After stuffing our faces and saying goodbye to the mafiosos, we prowled every inch of the Vatican museum. The best part was the Sistine Chapel by Michaelangelo. What a sight, no cameras were ...

Since arriving here in Rome, my mission was to find a park where I could go running, go for walks, or just go to do homework. Well over a month since arriving here, i was still unable to find such a park. However, when i was out to eat the Saturday of Tivoli, I met a girl...who happened to live in St. Paul!, and she told me of a park she had found. She ...

Day 12: Last day in Roma and Vatican City

... or something stupid like that. But instead it was Alberto, the really nice guy from the Palazzo Altemps museum! He recognized me when he saw me leaving and came out to say hello. How sweet was that?!?! So we chatted for awhile and exchanged email addresses, then he headed back in to work and ...

Pope-a-liscous

A trip to the Vatican basically seems to involve queuing. A very long wait to get inside and the only things around to entertain us a bunch of squalling kids and a wall. Now its lucky for that wall, because we had heard there was a little tunnel within the wall, it had been built in case of attack so the pope could escape. It wasn't a very wide tunnel and the pope would just have to be shoved to something on wheels and pushed through. Visions of that passed the time with ...

... personally didn't know (probably some kind of grace). We had spaghetti with meat sauce but I got different sauce. The fruit had alcohol in the juice. I was also making faces at JG and SS. (This is the point where my original travel journal stops) I remember going out and dancing at Campo Di Fiore. It was totally awesome - we got back pretty late. I danced with men from three different continents - wooo!
