... but this time go further than on surry. Head along fantastic road hugging coast and stop various times to see hump back whales blowing and breaching....spectacular. Manage about 6 miles with no complaints which made for a really nice ride. Go for lunch at wharf and have cod, prawn and callimari deep fried. Then onto kayaking tour ( including change into wet suits) which is fun. I share a kayak ...

A long one today, left 09.00am & arrived at the Motel here in Monterey at 8.00pm ! Stunning scenery, drove a long way on the edge of a mountain range, at times " white knuckle " high !! Lot's to see, most enjoyable. Tomorrow, driving up the road to view & have lunch at the world ...

Today we drove from Atascadero to Monterey along the Pacific Coast Highway. We stopped just north of San Simeon to see the elephant seals which were shrouded in fog. Then we stopped at Ragged Point to see the views. On the way out to the point you couldn't see the ocean but in the short time it took to return the fog had mostly cleared. Next we made our way to Big Sur for lunch at Nepenthe. The weather was perfect and we sat outside ...

First Day of Fun!

... Challenge. We had a blast! It was super fun, and fairly cheap. Only 12 dollars a ticket, so I only spent $24.
It was about 2 when we were done, and we were both a bit hungry, so I treated him to lunch at a nearby McDonalds. We shared 20 chicken nuggets for $5 dollars, so I had a chunky 397 left.
We walked home and rested for the rest of the day.

... after the big 1989 World Series earthquake and have yet to leave. In order to keep them off boats, the pier placed a bunch of low platforms in the water specifically for them to lay about. There was one big one who really wanted to sit up on the boat docks. He kept jumping up only to be met with the dock workers hose. Strangely it seems that sea lions don't like getting wet, at least when they intend on taking a nap. He would get sprayed and jump in the water and approach ...
