    ... used to produce power for a long time. Consequently, mills were built here. I haven't read up on all the history of them, but have a few photos of the information. I also went into their visitor centre. They have gone to a lot of trouble to make the valley accessible with walking trails and bits fenced off for safety. I also noticed one part was a designated rock climbing area, with a request for 'no fouling'. I presume they mean dogs?

    We spent one night in Congleton, before doing a long flight of locks. We were lucky with these as lots of boats were coming in the opposite direction, which meant we were able to pass one between each lock and find the next lock ready to drive into. Mostly we didn't even have to shut it up after ourselves as there was a boat waiting to come in. This build up of boats had happened because a car had run into a barrier at a swing ...

    ... I would like to clarify the definition of the word fuddle. Nottinghamshire folk use this word to refer to a food huddle. Food + Huddle = Fuddle.....obviously. It is the quirky term to describe the gathering of people (usually friends and colleagues) who each bring a food item to share over a meal time. Apparently there are other definitions but they are not ones I'm familiar with.
