    Disturbed Night Sleep

A travel blog entry by gpcampingcar on Apr 29, 2015

... we met and then came back...not a lot to be said for this area except the Port and Shipping Canal was something to see but being on the A1, stopping to take pictures of massive container ships being load or unloaded as well as sailing under very high bridges may not the be the local Polizie's idea of sight seeing!

    Typical Day

A travel blog entry by a_payne on Mar 24, 2015

I thought I'd share my daily activities since I feel like I've gotten into somewhat of a routine already.. Or at least as much of a routine as possible.. I get up each morning around 6ish and take my time getting ready. My bed is downstairs, so Jutta and Rüdiger get the kids up and ready. My job is to make sure the table is ready and set for breakfast around 6:45. I normally do most of it before I go to bed the night before, just ...

    Challenge Accepted

A travel blog entry by a_payne on Mar 23, 2015

Today was the first day that I have the kids by myself since both parents are out of town until Thursday. I would say that this is definitely the test week! Very shocked. I thought I'd have a hard time waking Henri ...

Jutta left town Saturday, so it was just Rüdiger, the kids and I. Since the market opens up so early, we had to get up at 5:30 and left a little after 6. It was already packed by the time we got there, but it was really awesome (and cold!). Of course there is a lot of fish sold there, but there were also ...

    First week in Hamburg

A travel blog entry by a_payne on Mar 20, 2015

I have survived my first week as an Au Pair! Of course there is still the weekend to go, but I made it through the first week of waking up at 6am and picking the kiddos up from school every day. The days have been quite long, but also very good. Every day is different and there's always something to see and do. Hamburg is such a big and diverse place that I don't think it's going to be possible for me to get bored. Next week will be a little more challenging. Both Jutta (my host mom) and ...
