... pretty tough for everyone, especially yesterday. I have said goodbye to all of my friends. Tara has left for her host family, Santiago has left to his host family, Trevor went to visit his fiance and son before flying home today. I think that Rafael from Chile might still be around but he is travelling around seeing Karneval all weekend in Düsseldorf and Köln.

... It'll cost a fair bit, but at least then I will have everything at home (I can't pay the excess baggage fee at the airport! It's absolutely insane!!!)

And so I will leave u for another day. If I have time to tell u about my other adventures before I come home I shall. If not I will give u an outline of what my week holds:

Hello everyone in the warm country back home.

It is now officially Winter. Yesterday the highest temperature was -3 and today on the way to Uni it snowed! Only slightly, but never the less, there was snow. This weekend it is supposed to snow quite a lot. I am looking forward to it. I will be in Lauterbach, Wurzburg and Rothenburg, and all will look so romantic covered in white. Hello!

Sorry that it has taken so long to tell u about my weekend. Usually I would only write one email... but I am always running off to class or to have lunch.
So I left u Saturday night and I got home at midnight. The most wonderful thing about the whole weekend was the fact that I didn't have an excursion Sunday and was able to sleep for over 12 hours!!

When I finally decided to get up I read a bit of my German teen novel ...

... for others. The music was so different to Rent that it was hard to appreciate it. But at least I knew what was happening.

After the Opera we managed to get back to the hotel with 2 trains, one bus and one tram (and 20 mins of walking). I really hope that the train sytem comes back soon!

Yet again I must depart. In my next installment I will tell u about my trip to the Opera on Sunday night to see Der Zauberflöte.

I made it. I survived the hurricane thankfully! The aftermath made my weekend a bit chaotic as all of the trains were cancelled because of trees falling on the tracks and warping the tracks too. That meant that my plans didn't go exactly as planned..... Let me take u back to Thursday night...

Don"t know if u have heard or not, but Germany is in the middle of a hurricane. 150km winds and severe warnings from the government to stay indoors. It was supposed to hit Essen really hard and we were all sent home from uni early and told to stay indoors. I really wanted to go online today to talk to u all like I said I would. Sorry guys!! He goes on to say 'I' (meaning Hitler) wet my bed, (which u see twice in the movie), I can't get an erection, (which u see once in the movie) and other insulting things ...

... station too late. the only train that we could catch would arrive in Witten after it had already started, we were really disappointed, but now we are determined to see La Boheme next Saturday night in Duisburg and we'll investigate train times before we go so that we're not disappointed again.
And that's all that happened on the weekend. Tonight we are going to see a comedy about Hitler, made in Germany called 'Mein Fuhrer'. Should be really interesting... Until next time,

I just spent the day, that is, from 11am till 7pm bike-riding around Witten and Hattenburg. It was a great day, but I currently can't sit down too well and my legs feel like they belong to another person. We finally had some good weather here in Germany... it's not exactly wonderful here at the moment - on and off rain for the last week. I miss the sun
