On Tuesday morning about 9:30 AM we set off for Detmold from Berlin.
We had scheduled to visit Doris' uncle and their family.

It was an uneventful trip except for 3 or 4 stops for Camilla to feed the baby.
The autobahn's are great and FAST. Camilla who drove us there clocked a speed of 160 KPH at one stage and yet we felt safe. The roads are flat without bumps or sharp curves.

We decide to stay in Arzen for another night and explore this area more rather than head north. There is so much to see and do here all within easy driving distance. Herman our host has given us a truck load of brochures and maps and information its hard to know where to start. ... climb the church tower (280 steps) which gave great views over the town and surrounding land. (In Amsterdam you pay €7.50 to climb the Westerkerk church tower!)

All in all a pleasant, picturesque town, with affordable cafes and parking and friendly people, though most visitors were a bit old. Made me feel so young!
