Bütschwil, Kanton St. Gallen, Switzerland andiontour... can watch all the processes they go through to make the cheese, which was pretty interesting! We watched the cheese-makers go through all the processes for quite a while and had a drink at in the restaurant before going back to Gossau for an authentic cheese Fondue!

We got up early the next morning and said goodbye to Heinz and Elsa, and caught our 1st train to get to Prague. It took us about 10.5 hours to get there.. LOOOOOONG time sitting on trains!!
Appenzell AI, Appenzell Innerrhoden, Switzerland acgwhale... get to the garage where Sylvia & Keith, and Dean & Helen were waiting.
It appears they had managed to get in contact with a guy they had met on the Rally last year. He lives about 20 miles away, and had gone to them, opened his garage to do the necessary repairs, and returned them to the garage in Feldkirch. Gaz & Charlotte went on with the rest, and we spent a night in a nearby hotel, not too reluctantly, although it was a bit expensive!

Bregenz, Austrian Alps, Austria dirtyweekendersOur next stop was St Gallen, home of a beautiful abbey with a medieval library and neighbouring by a charming Old Town. We walked around the abbey exterior before everyone went inside, with the exception of Lincoln and I. I have been here before and know it is a very ornate baroque design inside.

Next, we walked to the abbey library which houses the largest medieval collection of books in the world, basically. There was an admission to go in and my ...
St. Gallen, St. Gallen, Switzerland travelingdiva... your imagination you could see Italy. It was not cold which surprised us. The frontier actually ran through the base here and we walked through a sort of air lock to look down upon the town of Ehrwald in Austria. The journey back looked a bit hairy as we looked down at the cable car on the German side slowly riding up the mountain dangling from a piece of string...as it looked from that distance. It was an impressive route...almost vertical. I tried not to think ...
Singen, Germany brianc... the earth works hidden below. The tragedy with most European castles is that they were frequently sacked and raised to the ground only to be rebuilt by later aristocracy. Dates, therefore, really mean little. I might easily have remarked that the rock I was standing on was 2 million years old! Most of what we were looking at was 15th century ...not to be sniffed at. The US of A was still in nappies at that period and Terra Australis was ...
Friedrichshafen, Germany briancToday we drove to Lindau, Germany, and did our own walking tour. Lindau is an island in the eastern part of Lake Constance. It was quite overcast, but still lovely. I'm sure that on a warm summer day it would be filled with people sitting in the sun and enjoying all the open air cafes.

Then we were off around the lake ...
