... t finish until 4:30, but thats the only day we have to stay until late. Because sunset is at 4:30 also, when you leave its all dark and feels really late, but its not. No one has lockers they carry their bags with them and at recess dump tem by this pole in the foyer, so there is an area with about 100 bags just chucked there. Their classes are like lectures, the teacher just talks and they (well not really) listen and then when the bell goes he ...
Straubing, Bavaria, Germany teiganduketisHi everyone, there has been lots to do I hardly get time to write any blogs!! Yesterday we went to Regensburg and had an hour tour of the town. It was amazing. After I got home I wrote down everything I could remember in my diary, and it was about 8 pages! Of course we had an hour before the bus departed after the tour and I managed to some decorations at the Christmas Market, it was great and before I left I wanted to go back inside ...

They have a bread cutting machine which slices your bread however thick you want (except I'm scared to use it after seeing that workplace safety ad where the girl has her finger chopped off!!) Julia's little sister is so cute and follows me everywhere, so is extremely impressed with the tablet function on my computer and loves drawing pictires over the desktop. Their cats name is Momo ??? I'm pretty sure they said ...
Bogen, Bavaria, Germany teiganduketis... and many buildings dating from the middle ages. We saw the beautiful St. Peter Cathedral which, unlike many we’ve seen so far, did not have scaffolding around it. After the tour was over we returned to the cathedral to go inside. There has been a church of some sort on this site since 700. An earlier church burned down and the construction of this one started in 1280 and wasn’t finished until 1500, minus the steeples. It wasn’ ...
Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany tucsonjohn... care nothing about. We have quizzes like every other class and it is just lame. I've already accepted the fact that I might not do so hot in that class. But hey, you can't win 'em all.
Anyway, I should get going... I have a lot to do. And no drive to do it. But I'm very excited about this weekend. My cousin, Betsy, is meeting me in Vienna, Austria for a few days then returning with me to Regensburg and will be going to Oktoberfest (YAY) together! I can't wait to see her!
A lot has gone on since my last post and I'm going to go ahead and say I probably won't post every day because there just isn't enough time.
The day after the boat trip to Wahalla we started classes. Well actually just 2 of our 4 classes. For the first 2 weeks we are taking 5 days of German language and 2 of German culture, then the third week we add in our 2 other classes and cut German language ...
Today, everyone from the program got up and went on a boat ride to a site called the Wahalla, which is a replica of the Parthenon. It was a nice, peaceful ride with great company. The sun was out, it was just an absolute lovely day. When we got to the site, we had to climb many steps, but it wasn't anything new for me, I'm quite used to climbing steps these days. We walked around for a while, then went inside to see the busts and sculptures inside. We then trecked ...
Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany ab10... group. Dressed in their costume they played a Eb bass, piano accordion, trumpet and a bass trumpet (need to see the video). It was fantastic we sang and clapped. By this time we were already sailing away from Regensburg and when we got to the first lock they packed up and left the ship. If I haven’t mentioned this before altogether we will be going through 68 locks. At 10.30pm off to bed to watch a movie but I never seem to watch more then 5 minutes before I am asleep."
... touring of the Castle, most of the morning was spent driving around the city. I was happy with this as we got a perspective not possible whilst walking through the narrow alleys. Siemens is the largest empolyer in the city with 35,000 employees; MAN is another one, the first company to produce buses run on gas. Transport around the city is via tram, bus and train with Nurnberg being one of the smallest cities in Germany to have a subway. No trading on a ...
Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany cate354... one day... I pulled up for breakfast one morning, after making an early start, in a place called Wartenberg. I sat on the only thing around to sit on, a boulder between the road and bike track beside a sports ground. I noticed the caretaker pull up in a BMW as I made myself comfortable. After about ten minutes I heard a car behind me. It had to stop so the driver could take out some removable bollards to access the road. However, rather than deal with the ...
