    ... Pines Trail. This was fun. Bristlecone pines are the oldest living organism in the world. They are ugly trees that look like they belong on a set for a Halloween movie instead of a beautiful national park. Take a look at the photos. Some of the trees we saw were over 5,000 years old and still alive. The 4-foot trees were about 400 years old.
