Khao San Road
Our second day in Bangkok, and it has been as mental as ever. Today we went to a few more of the temples around the city and they were amazing architecture and gold everywhere. We had to have a pizza today for dinner as Rorie had a bit of a bad stomach but it was all good. We are both getting annoyed with the tuk-tuk drivers now trying to rip us off …
Then and Now
We finally made it to Bangkok! This is my 3rd time in Bangkok after visits in 2003 and 2004. I never really spent much time away from Khao San Rd because I mainly used Bangkok as a transportation hub and only stayed 1 or 2 nights each time. I reckon since this is my 3rd visit I should get out there and see a little bit more than before!

We made it, we actually made it!
We finally arrive at Bangkok! Even though we never thought we ever would. We got a cab to Khoasan road where our hotel is and it's so busy you won't believe. So thank god we went with the hotel with the pool (even though we won't get to use it). Weather is pony and raining but really really hot. We have a wee little sleep then go to the road market …
Back in Bangkok
Back safely in Bangkok after a very pleasurable flight from Saigon. Tomorrow is Benny's birthday and the arrival of his girlfriend, Jenny and Max's mom, Sue. We cannot wait to welcome our girls to the PLT II. Max's birthday is on August 26th. Happy Birthday to us both!!!!!!!!!

The Rikka inn was spotless and generally a lovely hotel, its location is both a positive and negative, the Khao San and surrounding streets are the epicenter for young travelers in Bangkok but trying to sleep when people are doing karaoke at 6 in the morning is a little difficult. Te staff were lovely and more than accommodating when we complained about the noise. if your not to worried about a little background noise i would go for it.
