So today I woke feeling pretty rough from the cold I seem to have caught. Its developed over the last day or so but ever onwards we go.

So today we decided to head to the harbour area of Osaka and see what the Santa Maria galleon cruise was like and what the aquarium was like.

Anyway, what to do on a boiling hot, muggy Sunday? Well as we are in Osaka the Castle is a MUST. We both love the old tv show Shogun, and in that Anjin-San was taken to Osaka castle....queue singing the theme tune :D

So this morning we were up and at em early...we had a train to catch to Osaka. Nice easy checkout, just missed the mega morning underground rush, and eventually found the shinkansen platform under the vast and scarily busy Tokyo station.

We had reserved seats so no scramble like we have had for other shinkansen journies last time we came …

I hate this place. The Kansai airport international departures floor is right up there with my most depressing places on earth. Simply walking in makes me feel uncomfortable, annoyed and depressed all at the same time. So I checked out of my big, fancy schmancy, rock star Tokyo hotel and made my way to the small, almost hidden boutique hotel I'll be living in for the next 7 days in Kyoto.
