... a ticket for tomorrow night's organ recital as the organ at Dome Cathedral is revered throughout Europe. After the concert we will be able to have a wander round the church. Behind the Cathedral is the History Museum of Latvia and Navigation. This was also very interesting and covered everything from clothing to propaganda posters. Yes, that is one of the Grand Challenges of this whole EVS business! On Facebook we address an English-speaking audience, so there I'm the boss. On Twitter and Draugiem (think Hyves 10 years ago) we speak Latvian, so I have no idea what goes on there. Same goes for the website, although Anna and I are working to translate that into Russian and English, to speak to a broader audience than the 2 million souls ...

Later we me some local uni students who invited us to another bar with them. This bar was tiny but packed with people! It was set up on a gazebo shaped building by the river. ... take a walk and have another look for the wooden houses over the other side of the river Daugava. Again we drew a blank, at least for photogenic ones. We did see some houses that would fit in well in Louisiana, if they were set back from the busy main road in their own grounds and weren’t quite so run down.
