... easy to explore the city. Sites included the observation desk of the Banco do Estado de São Paulo building, MASP, Paulista Street, Ibirapuera Park, and lunch at Google Brasil head quarters. The observation deck offered 360 views across central São Paulo which has more high rise buildings than you can imagine. MASP is a famous museum on Paulist Avenue - this wasn't as great as I expected. I spent ...

... the game I noticed a lot of Brazilian were getting mad and frustrated because holland couldn't score, and as it turned out it was another dark moment for the Brazilians seeing Argentina go through to play Germany. It's going to be a fantastic atmosphere in the final game. Every Brazilian that will be present at the game will definitely be supporting Germany. We were particularly proud of ourselves for negotiating the difficult journey on buses and metros from Fernando and Mirić’s house into town, though the 45 minute journey, standing, on a very crowded bus at 40°C was not something we’d like to repeat anytime soon!

... light rain, the streets were busy (packed). It was more of a slow moving block party than an actual parade. The music vibration could be felt in the hotel rooms. I think most of us got showered and came down to see a little of the parade before dinner. It was interesting to say the least. I'm not sure the parade itself was indicative of Brazilian culture, but the size and participation was definitely a sign of a very socially open culutre.
