... we continued on across the canal and to the main beach lined with small tiendas/beach bars. Because Paraty is set in a bay, the ocean is quite calm. We had dinner with the main group at a restaurant in the historic centre. Menu items are meant for 2 people. If you want to order a single serving you pay 60% of the price, and from looking at other menus, it seems to be the norm. Tomorrow we are going kayaking, assuming the weather ...

... the stadium was chanting swears at one of the Brazilian players. At the end of the game, the fans that were interviewed were downright rude to the team. This made me very sad. ... and same sex bars in Sao Paulo than we ever did in Copacobana, and everyone that we spoke to were really friendly and happy. There are also some very rich areas of the city that we did not walk around and the purple haze amongst the skyscrapers in the business district really did make a beautiful skyline at dusk. We really grew to like Sao Paulo and would have liked to spend a few more days there and explore the city further but our next trip in the Pantanal ...
