The morning was pretty unconstructive. Ed and I checked out and bummed about either watching TV or on t'interweb. I'm still a bit tired but with a night bus this evening and no valium that is a good thing. Around half three we headed out on a free walking tour of the 'new downtown'. It was good to get some knowledge on both Brazil as a whole, and Sao Paulo. The guide was decent and enthusiastic. This part of Sao Paulo looks ...

Then the next 30% is used for food production including a large chunk of land for cattle, followed by other crops (soy bean, corn, etc) and then in this area is only 1% used for the production of sugar cane. Now why is sugar cane so important? Brazil is the largest producer of sugar, exporting some 40%. But what is more important is that they produce ...

We didn't actually stay in Sao Paulo, just flew in and caught a bus to Paraty. Flying in was quite amazing though. Endless skyscrapers, as far as the eye can see. It was like flying into Manhattan times a million. The reason we didn't stay in Sao Paulo, according to our tour guide Gabby, was that tourists tend to get robbed with great frequency in ...
