... right in front of us where a tidal stream was just moments before. Once the birds leave the mudflats they land on the small islands in the fresh water ponds. Once the tide goes back down they will return to the mudflats. We watch for as long as we can but it's getting dark at 7:20 now and high tide is 8:00 so we don't see them return to the mudflats. It's all very cool. I feel like I'm in a Discovery Channel film. ...

... This time we found street parking without a time limit.

While in the Apse we were told to look up at the Lincoln Imp. Sure enough high up one of the columns is a carved imp. We asked the elderly gentleman who pointed it out to us and he said that pilgrims would come to this part of the cathedral to worship St. Hugh. The imp was to remind them that a pilgrimage wasn’t enough and if they were too proud the devil ...

... tower which is very very and I mean very old, it is a thousand years old. For me that was the highlight of the day when we went right to the top of it you could see all of Oxford even green grass paddocks in the country side. ... 1220, was in my element, another Church steeped in amazing history.

... structure is breathtaking - I don't feel so cheated as the visit to Westminster was anything but meaningful, 1000's tourist, today was sheer bliss.
Across the Green was where Oliver Cromwell had his house .
Within the Cathedral there was a museum of Stained Glass, much has come from disused Churches, Abby's etc and is the only Museum of it's kind in the UK.
