Well, 4 months have passed since my last entry. Hopefully I haven't left you in suspense. I think the reason for not writing was due to the lack of good material, life was pretty normal and steady, nothing too exciting to report on. Recently though, freshness and change are the themes. On April 29, I turned 26 years old!! When I was younger, early 20's, I thought by the time I was 26, my career would be at least in it's early stages, I'd have a job, maybe a husband. The overall impression I h...
Ocho Rios, Jamaica jennipost... br>
Our flight from Quito was delayed which meant we missed our connection and spent a night in Miami to catch an early flight the next day. In our already relaxed state of mind we just rolled with the punches and got to Montego Bay a day later than planned, no biggie.

Upon arrival in Montego Bay (or Mobay) we were immediately introduced to the relaxed island vibes! A reggae band in the baggage hall at the airport is not a bad start! The ...

Montego Bay, Saint James, Jamaica msandy1024... If you get lucky, you'll have a chance to hear Rory Frankson, an upcoming Jamaican classical music singer, who performs weekly at different Sandals resorts. When I was first told that Sandals hired Rory to perform classical and opera, I was a little skeptical, but it works and the guests rave about him. He's now a close friend, and I would encourage you to get to know him.

Tokyo Joe's

Filled ...
Montego Bay, Jamaica caribbean_fever... South America. With your indulgence I hope to check some more Caribbean countries off the list by doing some simple airline stopovers. These are tiny countries with tiny less-than-Alaska-size populations and it's not like they've all got distinct cultures. I figure if I get to Antigua I can go RT to Grenada on a LIAT milk run stopping off at several different countries on the way down and back. Then I'd just do a side trip to St. Kitts where I ...
Montego Bay, Jamaica hardiek... was when I thought there was a Seinfeld episode that I hadn't seen yet, but it was a false alarm. Jamaica of course is old news in travel and music circles, reggae music pretty much single-handedly spawning the world music industry after Bob Marley's death. Jamaica is now so dependent on tourism that I doubt they could do without it. This spawns a certain dependency, both economic and psychological. Though famous for its 'friendly ...
Montego Bay, Jamaica hardiek... get her story, but didn't want to offend her sensibilities or violate any religious taboos. I wouldn't want to change any of the local customs, no. You've got to be sensitive. The Interzone bozos almost got to me the first day with all their little dog-and-pony shows and psychological manips to get me into their shops and their houses and their pants to spend all my money before it's all gone, stash for cash. They can sense fresh meat like a ...
Montego Bay, Jamaica hardiek... play tennis on five all-weather tennis courts, be pampered at the spa, and have breakfast prepared by their own private staff. In short, Round Hill offers honeymooners the chance to enjoy unparalleled luxury in an extremely private setting. Round Hill is so big that it can be a long walk from the villa to the lobby, bar, restaurant, and pool. Transportation is just a telephone call away however. Round Hill charges for Internet service, which seems ...
Montego Bay, Jamaica msandy1024... the sanest of us all told the bell man who had started to smile to pardon us for we have had no sleep..... Right so off we go.......the rooms were great with our own balcony, the two rooms we got were right beside each other so that was great....laid down for 5 mins and decided we need to eat a proper meal...so we did...the meal we had was pretty good, it was a feast of cheeseburger (hehe)...we also decided to try the famous drink "Jamaican Delight." Right, we all ...
Montego Bay, Jamaica longie... and live musicians created the atmosphere just the way you'd have wanted it to be. All in all, it was a far cry from skiing down a mountain, but then again, winter sun never goes amiss, and as I left the place armed with a souvenir T-shirt, a whole bunch of photos and terrific memories, it comes as no surprise as to why I began to consider a healthy travel schedule to be something as worryingly vital as breathing in air.
