... caught a local train to Chamonix proper and checked back into the Grand Hotel des Alps, our original starting point, where we were repatriated with our luggage. The rest of the day was spent relaxing in the hotel and waking the busy streets of Chamonix. Checkout tomorrow and we start our journey to Paris via a B&B in ...

The day started out pretty normal with clouds threatening and the odd drop of rain. Our final destination was the Col de Forclaz where we checked into the only hotel and organized our rooms - shared washroom and shower again. Not too difficult a day, but different scenery and interesting walk through the forest and farms (with many cows). I swear I think they are following ...

... and there were 2 burly French police with some very short German guy who was driving a vintage style polizi vehicle with an orange light, it looked extremely serious, I guess he was impersonating a policeman! The mountains with their snow caps truly stunning, incredible to seem still warm when we got here, 27 by early evening when rain hit it came down to 11 which seemed cold. Surprised at how much snow is still in the mountains. ...
