Oslo, Oslo, Norway cariverga... first Denmark and then Sweden and occupation by the Nazis in the second World War. Norway didn't get their independence until 1905. It is obvious that they were not treated well by their rulers. Norway does not look as prosperous as Sweden or Denmark. They don't have any beautiful historical buildings and their villages and homes are quite modest and unassuming.

Some interesting things I learned about Norway
- by law, 50% of the members of government are ...
Oslo, Oslo, Norway lsteen... from Copenhagen is uneventful enough. At solstice even the night bus has some good views, so it’s not like I missed much in the darkness. I even managed to get some sleep, so when the bus finally pulls into the bus station at 5-something AM, I’m not in too bad shape. At least there IS a bus station, big improvement over Copenhagen. The contiguous train station’s even got some ...
Oslo, Oslo, Norway hardiek... Norway's first encounter with human aviation was the result of the 1870 French-German War. At the time apparently the only way out of Paris was by hot air balloon and one group got lost and eventually made it back to the ground in Norway! Our exit of the museum coincidentally timed well with a regional train due at the adjacent station for Oslo in 10 minutes. As we waited we were entertained by some presumably local youths snowboarding down the station stairs, grinding the ...

Oslo, Oslo, Norway luky... in or out was to climb a 200m high ladder from the fjord below, and the owner never paid taxes because when the tax man would come to collect them the owner would pull up the ladder. Sneaky! Another farm, next to the seven sisters' waterfall had children living there and apparently whenever they went out to play in their yard they had to be tied to rocks so they wouldn't fall off the cliff. The reason this family abandoned this particular farm however was not because of the ...
Oslo, Norway kitty... i can do them anytime. I feel its best that i keep the time for destinations I'm not likely to ever see again. Also Denmark and even Amsterdam were not on my original itinerary leaving Ireland so it might sound like a cop-out but i found it easy to drop them. I have a friend to meet up with in Goteborg so I'm going to head straight there. I didn't book any accommodation so it seems my new leaf to start planning ahead is only half turned over, but i don't forsee any difficulties ...
Oslo, Oslo, Norway talamarko... I had clear view of the stairs, and I saw her head was in a bit of an awkvard position, so I got quite scared, but thank god the lady was fine, and didn't need to go to the hospital (the busdriver stopped right away and wanted to driver her to the hospital, when he realized what had happened) So finaly at 9 p.m we arrived in Trondheim, we were both really exhausted, but it had been a fun trip:)
Oslo, Norway camilia... of just sitting down and exploring the room I dropped off my things and headed out the door to do some more sight seeing. Before doing anymore sightseeing though, I stopped by Karl Johann's gate to get something to eat. Since I don't speak any Norwegian (nor did I really study any before going) it was hard at first for me to find a restaurant that I wanted to eat at, but I eventually went to this "family" style ...
