... expensive here that, like field mice they only eat in times of plenty. Another thing ; often when we are in public places( cafes, buses,in the street, etc.)people come up and speak Norwegian to us ,confidently assuming that we are one of them. This provides a bit of a lift -they are lovely people, the women in particular ,both young and old are so very natural, never thinking to colour their greying hair they carry their good looks ...

We returned to the ship after about 40 minutes and hopped in to lunch before the crowds. Tonight we land in Tromso at 11-45pm and we are going to a Midnight Concert in the Arctic Cathedral there. Really looking forward to that. More to come in the next three days!

... go for the 24 hr snack bar meals, with lovely salads, which are about $10 each, and this provides much more flexibility , options and a bit healthier. - suggest to buy some fresh fruit at each port, as is more economical than buying on the boat. - there were a few young people who took the option to come on without a cabin, and they are allowed to do this a a much reduced rate of about $25 AUS per day, and can sleep in their sleeping bags on the lounges on board. Also allocated a shower ...
