... which pete did not like. We were so high there was snow all around us, and a glacier field in front of us and it was blooming cold! We went to see a stave church today - wooden churches only found in norway built in about 11-1300 ad. The craftsmanship was amazing. Anyway eventually reached Bergen and guess where we are staying tonight..... A hospital, yes I have booked us into the patients hotel attached to the hospital. ...

... was going to be a chewy ol' day? Pete waited until 9.30 and the weather had got worse so we decided to take a detour which meant we missed out the mountain but went about 150 miles further. In norway when the kids finish education at 18, if ...

We climbed some hills and came across some snow/ice. Sophie and Alison had a bit of a play in the ...

The fjord looks very interesting from the water, its sides are cliffs rising almost straight out of the water, some of which even have ice caps. Some cliffs are rocky, some are covered with trees and every flat place has a house or a farm. Overall, the fjord is a very unusual place with mountains surrounding ...

... smorgasbord of green valleys, thundering waterfalls and impressive mountains. It takes about an hour to get to Myrdal and the incline, at 1:18, makes it the steepest "normal" train line in the world. Halfway through the journey the train stopped at the the majestic Kjosfossen and allowed passengers to get out and spend five or ten minutes there. Shortly after everyone was out of the train, music started coming from the direction of the waterfall and a few women ...
