    ... 18deg, whether it's actually 8, or 14, but this time when he said it's 25, I had to actually check the thermometer....
    So, I went for a swim and it was beautiful since the weather was as hot as Haides with Norway enduring 30-35C for the last couple of weeks.

    ... occasions have presented themselves on our trip-unplanned, unexpected, yet such warm and memorable experiences.

    As we still hadn't had a proper lunch, after leaving the church, we had a late lunch down by the sea in a very idyllic spot, once we'd finally found a picnic table!!

    We continued on cycling in the warm afternoon sun, taking a small ferry over to another island, then arriving at the especially picturesque fishing village of Fiskebackskil. Here ...

    ... 3rd birthday and I was up early to go into Sarpsborg with Nils and Hilde to help with birthday celebrations preparation. Camilla got home about 3pm and all the family members arrived around 4pm for a late lunch/early dinner to celebrate Cornelia's birthday as well as Hilde's sisters birthday. Far too much food was eaten and with 4 cakes on offer far too much sugar was also consumed. Friday evening was spent in a food coma sitting on the balcony talking trying not to move ...

    Awoke to the pitter-pat (not of tiny feet thank goodness) but of more bloody rain, although by about 10.00 it had fined up and we received a phone call to come for lunch and dinner, from a couple of Treas's live-wire old aunts who live out in the sticks on a superb farm just outside Notodden, about an hour and a half from where are staying.
