... on violent storm force 11 on the beaufort scale.....not quite hurrcane yet but bad enough! The ceiling has just this second fallen down again!

Everyone is in good spirits though and I hope this will ease soon! We are on deck 9 and the waves are coming up over our window. Incredible force!

Ontem o sol não se pôs e hoje não nasceu!

Isso, e simplesmente isso, é o Pólo Norte.
A linha imaginária do círculo polar determina a divisão: ao seu norte ao menos uma vez no ano o sol não se põe, 24 horas de dia, de luz solar!
Como acordamos em Narvik (latitude 68° 25' 14''), bem dentro da calota polar, o sol nasceu dia 24/05 e somente voltará se pôr no dia 19/07. São quase dois meses de plena luz!

... yhamnist ning liigume kitsas kanalis saarte vahel ikka lõuna suunas. (Ilmateade Tromsø +3, Trondheim +6, siin, kus ma olen u +4, kuid piirkonda, kuhu õhtuks jõudma peaksime, lubatakse üksikuid miinuskraade). Eelmisel korral, kui ma Lofootidel olin, keeras ilm ka ära. Tuleb uuesti tulla :)

... deal. It seems to be a fluke in the system because on any other day, the cost of tickets to Croatia is about triple. We are leaving on Friday and we will arrive in the port city of Split at around 6:45pm. We plan to spend about 2 days in split and then we will travel down to the beautiful Dubrovnik. I am trying to reserve rooms at hostels in the two cities. Magdalena has just offered to create us makeshift sleeping bags from fleece blankets ...
