... salinity balances out with the sea it's connected to. At a small waterfall we all turned around, and paddled much closer to the shore on the way back. We passed some unattended sheep on the banks - I'm not even sure how they got there given the sheer cliff faces on either side - and paddled back towards the boat houses until we stopped at a cliff edge. A beautiful small old route that goes straight into the mountains with sharp turn after turn reaching an altitude of 1300 m very rapidly. ... than an hour, and we hopped on without more than a glance from the officers. It took a little over two hours to get through the fjords and into the tiny town of Flam, and I had to force myself to put the camera away about half way through. The sun was high and the sky was a piercing blue. Every few feet the view of the fjords changed, and every ten feet I'd take a picture. Now I've got to go back and delete 90% of them because they all look the same :) The boat ...

We woke to a rainy morning which was a tad disappointing -- I was sure the two rainbows the previous day would bring bright skies and cool air. I was so wrong on that prediction. We enjoyed an early breakfast, packed our lunches, gathered our belongings and headed to the train which was a mere 100 feet from the hotel. The trip to Flam was about 1.5 hours and the scenery was spectacular! Quite honestly, it ...
