... enough to retire to the tent. Tomorrow we have a long ride to Oslo, and while it shouldn't rain as we leave, or rain as we arrive, the weather does change rather quickly here so it wouldn't surprise me if there were a few spots where we get wet on the way. Also we'll have to take a small detour to the place where Jess hired her sleeping bag and mat, and with a bit of luck the guy won't notice that the sleeping mat we're returning is not the same one as the one we left ...

You think you must have seen it all...and well ,you haven't.Early start this morning 5am,and we came into Sogneger Fjord and later into the arm that leads to Flam.,Aurandsfjord.Much more narrow Fjords this time, with trees and of course everything much more visible, in the morning light, simply spectacular,we could hear the waterfalls, from the balcony, some from very great heights, the tiny hamlets, and even the goats grazing ...

The hike to the waterfall wasn't too bad, and the view of the waterfall was great since there was a rainbow on it. (See picture) Train to Oslo: long stretches of barren land with melting snow creating small ...

    ... they had
to swerve to avoid me on some of the rather blind bends. However it was not a
car that just about took my life but some clown on a motorcycle who was
obviously out for a speed jolly who came tearing around a corner and was going
so fast he had to take up the whole road to take the curve. He got the fright of
his life when he suddenly realised he was heading for a head on collision with
me and had to take instant action!!! What a clown is all ...

We woke to a rainy morning which was a tad disappointing -- I was sure the two rainbows the previous day would bring bright skies and cool air. I was so wrong on that prediction. We enjoyed an early breakfast, packed our lunches, gathered our belongings and headed to the train which was a mere 100 feet from the hotel. The trip to Flam was about 1.5 hours and the scenery was spectacular! Quite honestly, it ...
