    ... was a most picturesque drive and it was weird to see such self sufficient types of little towns here so close to the hustle and bustle of Austria. At the foot of Mount Vogel we stopped and hopped into the cabin of a huge cablecar which took us up to the summit approx 1500 meters up!     This was beautiful -a river running down through a sometimes very narrow canyon with turquoise water pools, waterfalls and rapids. The final 16 metre waterfall was amazing in its power.

    ... turquoise colour. Lake bled itself was also stunning, surrounded by snow covered mountains and a castle high up on a cliff over looking the lake.

    We were picked up from the train station by our host Bojan. He mentioned a few facts about the lake itself which I wasn't really paying much attention too until he casually added that Slovenia is the home of brown bears.     ... After multiple failed attempts, we each rang the bell 3 times and made our wishes. After rowing back from the island, our tour guide said he knew a path that lead to the most amazing view.     ... housing many building including a cafe, souvenir shop and many trees. From where we left our boat we took about 100 steps up to the highest point on the island. Here was situated the Mary of Assumption Church (Cerkev Marijinega vnebovzetja). This church was built in the 17th century using many gothic forms from 1470 using many baroque items.
