Ahhhhhhhhhhh

... that was my cue to say that I was not well. There was no way that I was going anywhere in a car with anyone. We had a nice meal though at the street markets in the square lots of meat and salads and I had like a dumpling with chicken and pastry and sweet spices on it really really nice. We said our goodnights and he asked if we would like to meet up again tomorrow we have said yes but we have different plans now as Mohammad is going to cook us a meal in the Riad.
Nothing Like it on Earth

... a pic and Ian did not want the snake around his neck. He was demanding that we go to the bank and get some money and being really nasty so in the end I just dumped the 2d in his had and grabbed Ian and walked off.

We ended up having a walk around and going to the restaurant that we had seen in the day it was an oasis of calm after the street sellers. Ian had tajine of lamb and I had chicken we both had 3 courses and it cost us about 13 pounds and the food was lovely.
Palaces And Tombs In Marrakesh, Morocco

... some time!]

Back to Bahia Palace – it was incredible. The ceilings were painted, gilded, and inlaid with the most intricate woodworking I had ever seen; the pathways, floors, and many walls contained gorgeous, hand-painted mosaic work; and the doors, window boxes, and other room trimmings all consisted of hand-painted and carved woods.

The vizier was a busy guy – we toured the opulently ornamented harem, which once ...

The Air Is Full Of Spices! Marrakesh, Morocco

... like minutes – with the monkey reaching over and patting my cheeks, and tugging on my shirt, and generally scaring the **** out of me (visions of my face getting ripped off did come to mind…) – with a tug on the leash by the owner, the monkey did a back-flip (not even kidding!) onto the ground. And then what did the owner do? He picked up the monkey and threw it onto Murray’s arm, of course! Repeat results. Even though the monkey’s ...

A final day in "The Red City", Marrakech

... And oh my, we had the best balcony seats in the house as the sun turned the scene to a rosy glow and the square came alive w/ smokey food stalls, snake charmers, jugglers, magicians, et al as darkness descended.

All in all, a most magical night to top off my fantastic adventures in Morocco.

... of my excess couscous would have gone well with it. By night the square was exactly as I'd seen it on the Amazing Race, which made me want to go there! A chaotic sprawl of lights, people, stalls, and billowing smoke which apparently ...

Palaces, Tajines, Cous cous and more...

... outside of Marrakech. We definitely have to come back..there is a lot to see and do here and it's a very beautiful country. I'd love to go to Casablanca, Fez and Rabat as well next time. It is also really hot here, though the nights are cool, I would hate to imagine how hot it gets in summer here, since its now winter. Sometimes it can get up to 21-23 degrees in winter...just like a Wellington summer! haha I really liked Morrocco! Sad to go.

The Real Morocco

... Somehow we didn't spend all our time in the souqs, though Shannon, Arlene and I might have given half the chance! (Neither Martin nor Jon list shopping as one of their favourite pastimes.) Other sights we visited included the Saadian Tombs and the Palais el-Badi. The Saadian Tombs was the original privileged cemetery for descendents of the Prophet Mohammed. While the infamous Moulay Ismail systematically stripped the Palais el-Badi of all ...
