... br>So Don Fez (he got the name because he kept calling us his daughters and sons and said he was like the Don Corleone of Fez ...he then did a hilarious Don Corleone impression....so we decided he would go by Don Fez the rest of the trip). He definitely lived up to it. As we walked throughout the alleys of the medina he literally knew every person and kissed them on the cheek and talked to everybody. The medina is made up of markets, mosques, and literally 11,000 alleyways ...
Casablanca, Morocco bridgetbomhackLast night we had a dinner meeting with the Doyen Rotary club, where the District Governor, "AbdelFettah," was present, as well as their club president. During the day we also visited some schools that the Doyen club was helping. One in particular (in Bouskoura) did not have toilets, so the club helped to fund their installation. I'm still amazed at the things we take for granted. I just ...
Casablanca, Morocco jmatczak... next French lesson. i have found that CSI: Miami has given me the greatest insight into the French language (but there is still no man, even in French, that can make David Caruso's voice sound cooler than David Caruso. i love you all and i'll connect with you soon. ted. to be continued... *Arabic Lesson of the Day: Does anyone here speak English? wash kayn shee hedd henna lee kay'ref negleezeeya? -i think by the time it would take me to get all that out, i would have another bowl of olives.
Casablanca, Morocco troseen... can smell so different. There are over 200 mosques in Casablanca, 20 synagogues and only four churches. Of the four churches there is only one that holds services weekly. The services are held in French on Sundays mainly because the majority of Christians trace their roots back to France since Morocco gained their independence from them not long ago in '56. The church does not look like anything special from outside but inside the walls are completely ...
Casablanca, Morocco claudiv... I shouldn't care so much, but it was almost upsetting as my blue eyes gave me away and men stared at me to a point that made me feel purely like a sexual object. We stayed at a hotel in Ouarzazette and met the restaurant manager as we were finishing up another amazing meal. We invited him along to play cards with our driver and us, and so we moved into the hotel bar (which was completely empty along with the entire hotel - we weren't even close to tourist season). We had ...
Casablanca, Morocco liz23... Day two of our Casablanca adventure started in a similar fashion to day one, except this time we had maps (sort of), and had orientated ourselves which as a result meant we required maps less! We also had Medina experience thanks to Marrakech and Essouria so we were well prepared. Our walk through the Medina started with us heading for where we thought Rick's bar would be located; somewhere on the Northern wall of the Medina with a view of the harbour. The road on the way was quite ...
Tinha muitas saudades. Dei-lhe o num do telemovel do Driss e ela ligou-me. Depois de lhe ter contado o maximo que consegui, pedi que me ligasse à minha mamã para lhe dar os parabéns. Assim foi feito. Eu sabia ...

Casablanca, Casablanca, Morocco mcetyvon... language, Berber, as well as Arabic, English and sometimes Spanish. Its crazy! And everyone looks so different too. In general, not always, most people have darker skin than us gringos, but the look of everyone seems influenced from all over the world. And everyone is so friendly and nice. Except the men that hang out at the cafes ( because in muslim countries cafes and coffee shops are generally men only) they some times stare/glare at you if your a ...
