Marrakech, Morocco traceybelleGot up at 4am and got to the airport ok in the taxi the hotel where we stayed is really half a mile away from the airport you can see the planes taking off and the taxi cost us 20 euro they know how to rip you off around here. I am excited about the change of scenery and also about going somewhere that is hot I cant wait to get my summer clothes back on again! I hate it on aeroplanes though when people in front of you put the seats down, I know that you can but there is such a ...
Marrakech, Morocco traceybelle... his four wives and 24 concubines! We also viewed the Court of Honour, where crowds of people gathered to beg for the vizier’s mercy. Over the palace’s history, the place was looted several times – especially after the vizier died – so the palace is no longer furnished. Still, the embellishments speak for themselves – we were blown away by how intricate and detailed the rooms were.

After Bahia Palace, we ...
Marrakech, Morocco annalisamurray... clothes, wood carvings, shoes, silver plates, tea sets and copper kettles, live animals and toy ones, patisseries, cloth, scarves, pillows, blankets, butcher and fish stands – to name a few! At every souq, there’s at least one (probably more) individual urging you to “Come in and explore! Buy! Stay awhile and spend your money here!” Again, while I have been to several large marketplaces in Central and South America, and the Turkish Bazaar in ...
Marrakech, Morocco annalisamurray... And oh my, we had the best balcony seats in the house as the sun turned the scene to a rosy glow and the square came alive w/ smokey food stalls, snake charmers, jugglers, magicians, et al as darkness descended.

All in all, a most magical night to top off my fantastic adventures in Morocco.

Marrakech, Morocco globalgirl... spent on souvenirs and car rental, in fact. During the planning phase we considered staying with some people from the CouchSurfing project there, but finally we've decided to go the normal backpacker's style and just be free. However, we might have been just a bit too suspicious about them, because all the people Karolina has contacted were just too friendly, loyal and offered us guide/touristic services. But nevertheless... maybe we begin using it next time and in Europe, for a start ...
Marrakech, Morocco mys... in the country. Several of us take the birthday boy to a local restaurant that is modest, but extremely popular with the locals and with great food and service for an amazingly low price. I have fish prepared in foil wrap that was awesome for about $9.00 plus a salad for about $5.00 that is big enough to share with a client. After coffee and a taxi ride to the hotel, it is lights out and ready for an early start tomorrow. Very full and satisfied, and sleepy hugs to all, Dan
Marrakech, Morocco wareameye... the locals when we get to Mauritania. And finally this e-mail cannot pass without ref**ence to ENGLAND 1 ARGENTINA 0. Magic. But it was touch and go for a while h**e in Marrakech. First half was no problem - watched on the t**race of our hotel. Half time - 1-0. Then they cut for the news. A usual thing for the middle of games in Morocco. When the game was due to recommence they cut from the news to the Friday call to pray** on the telly. OK, fair ...
