Also here the EU directive on prohibition of smoking in public buildings counts, but it seems to have been interpreted that the forbidden-to-smoke sings have to been hang up; no more and no less. Hotel owners cheerfully smoke in front of such sign, inviting you in. we have given up on asking for a smoke free room ......

... handle to keep it open when we stopped, no-one needs windows in this town anyway and my favourite part about it was that he had to touch 'those' two wires together (think hot-wiring) every time to get it started. The trip up to the horses in the Niva was a lot of fun too, like 4WDing in Australia. The horses were lovely and the ride stunning through the Bulgarian countryside. Tom was very good at it too, this was the first time he'd ever ridden a horse without falling ...

Bulgarian T.V. It was just a normal regular, was-showing-Bulgarian-So-You-Think-You- Can-Dance-beforehand normal channel. Bulgarians are clearly no prudes!

Devin... A lovely town in the middle of nowhere
Devin, the Daylesford of Bulgaria (kind of): Today we arrived in beautiful and tiny Devin. Those who know me know how 'directionally challenged' I am, but in Devin even I managed to get my bearings reasonably quickly. As there is not a great deal to do here (the main street consists of a fruit store, a pharmacy and three coffee shops) I am hoping that our days will be filled with a whole lot of not much. ...
