... special visitors who spent the night at his house, such as the King and Queen of England, were ever aware of his paralysis. In his study in this house he met with Winston Churchill to devise the Manhattan Project, later known as the nuclear bomb which ended the war after his presidency!The presidential library was fantastic and we learnt a great deal about this man and American history in general.

Quick jaunt into Woodstock--"quick" being the operative word here. We found a supposedly dog-friendly spot online (Bringfido.com) but was told upon arrival that only service dogs were allowed. ... Winded in Windham, how appropriate. He was content with his time, but as ever, cited room for improvement. Tomorrow's race is the big one, a 77 miler.

We are currently sitting outside as I write this: a glass of wine at my right, the sun setting, the wind whistling through the air and each of us with a dog in our laps. Ah, contentment. Tonight we are venturing to Woodstock for dinner. I shall relay our experience in another entry. Til next time...
