The trail from Neckargemünd to Neckarsteinach is about 10kms, but we didn't want to make any shortcuts. So we walked around in a loop in town to pick up where we had left off, which ended up taking us through a park back down to the river and back up to the train station again! From there it was a steady climb out eastwards to what is called the Oberer Stadtwald (upper city forest) and a fantastic ...
... the forecasts is that the temperature will increase by a couple of degrees each day, reaching about 20 degrees by the time we reach Paris. Such a difference from what has been in those areas over the past two weeks. So it is a nice but cold 6 degree day to head off to Heidelberg, but later it got down to 2 degrees. As I mentioned earlier, I attended a ton of social events during the first week and I've already made a ton of friends from all over the globe. I haven't had the chance for any real tourist activity yet, but I'm hoping to start that this weekend with a trip to Prague!
We met up with Paula's friend Tina at the Cineplex and went into the Sneak Peak which ended up being a war movie called Lone Survivor about a group of Navy Seals fighting for survival in Afghanistan. Although based on a true story, the screen play wasn't too great and the action scenes a little unrealistic. How can you fall down two cliffs and still walk away! In the end the was only one survivor, even the rescue team gets blown up! At least I walked away with a free DVD!
