    ... to America'. Hilary had given us excellent instructions on making our way by Airport express and the subway - we took the A Train! We are staying in the apartment opposite my brother Mal and Hilary, in fabulously located Bleecker Street. Susan, an anthropologist who is currently on leave from NYU has kindly allowed us to stay in her apartment till Dec 31, when we will move across the hallway and occupy nephew Sean's room when he returns to Yale.     ... saw a huge cloud similar to a mushroom cloud, with lightening and the sun setting behind it. looked impressive. got back to camp, and discovered the storm flooded camp again, and it had stopped by the time we got back.

    4th july: independence day! - 6:00am wake up after a night spent in my swim shorts, then try to wrestle everyone into the lake (brits are thrown into the lake) then a normal day until after dinner - a skit from every country that both campers ...

    That's right... three nights in a row without internet!

    The first, at Monticello, their internet had gone down. The next, it was so slow I couldn't even access e-mails. Last night I was on the road.

    But I assure you I have some great things to tell you all about my visit to Walkill, particularly Patterson and, finally, Brooklyn.

    I should get these ready tonight... thanks for your patience.

    ... but i cant spell) who makes pizza. there was also a live band on who was cool and then after that a dj just put chart music on, so i left - no alcohol :(. there is a country club where people of age can go. i really want a beer.
    apparently they put the canteen on every night and two nights a week I have to patrol the area.

    on thursday we all went to binghamton on school busses, it was so cool when they all rolled up, but they where very cramped inside - ...

    Our final destination was Bellagio, a delightful community with lovely boutiques, vistas and restaurants.

    We we have taken dozens of wonder photos but unfortunately the internet service here is so slow, we cannot upload them. We will try again tomorrow
