... the hotel was so beautiful, and empty except for us. So we conspired to have pizzas delivered, the hotel bartender/waiter, Pepe, stoked a fire for us in the library, and we all snuggled down into wing back chairs in front of a fire where we drank, ate, and laughed for hours. ... seem to be very patient drivers, certainly far more so than in NZ. We guess it's a function of population - impatience doesn't get you very far here. Overall the driving was straightforward and pretty relaxed with speed limits up to 130kmh. We travelled up to 120kmh conditions permitting. ... of leading "Le Tour", to the "Caravan", where random items were thrown off passing buses, cars and floats to - no, at - the gathered masses. Sorry Steve but we didn't get the shirt you'd hoped for. But we did get a selection of (five) hats, two key rings, a pack of the madeleines, a condom and "Le Journal de Mickey Mouse". A fine haul!!!
