... only 2 minutes away from the Highway, where we were standing) we got a ride from a nice man who was by coincidence on his way to a small town next to Lodz. This friendly man was willing to bring us a little closer to Lodz than he actually needed to go. About 10 minutes after arriving in Lodz snow started to fall, first only a little, but few minutes later heavily, so when we arrived at the Piotrkowska street it had already changed to a snow covered wonder world.

... this very small town, apparently it's in the centre of a very large forest area & once boasted a Royal Hunting Lodge, a playground for Russian Czars & Polish Presidents! ... easily as it was a Cistercian Abbey before a hotel and it's huge with its own church and monster courtyard. Had a cold drink although Lana's tonic water had no ice,; that's another thing, their drinks here are barely cold and never, ever have ice in them! ... to try two different drinks. Mine was a ginger drink and Amanda's was hibiscus.... Hers turned out to be much better than mine but she did not hate the ginger drink as badly as I did so she was a trooper and we traded. For the meals, I had a burger which was crazy. ... looked like banana nut bread, thinking I wonder if it's the same as ours. I LOVE banana nut bread!!! Well, to my surprise, it was not even close to banana nut bread!!! Thank goodness Ben tried it first and said it was not, but to still try it. YUCK!! it was some type of a meat or something of like a pasta meat...we had no idea what it was but no where close to what I thought it looked like in America! I am so glad I didn't take a big chomp into it waiting ...
