... Modern Art! The building itself was amazing, however the art within was "not really to our taste"! The one massive installation that the kids liked was a series of massive steel shapes, which were great fun to run around, and make echoing sounds along. ... most days out but evenings here at the house, creating fabulous food and sipping fabulous wine. We've visited prehistoric caves, markets, vineyards, foie gras farms and have been seeking bread where ever possible. The 4 of us are having a grand time together eating and drinking our way to nirvana.

We have been four nights in possibly the best hotel so far, a real home stay with home cooked meals and a four room apartment all for us. The place has beautiful stone buildings and is 100% quiet at night.

We have been to Bergerac (vineyard visit, wine tasting), a wild boar farm, a duck farm (we watched uncomfortably as a goose received the 'gavage' force feeding treatment), a place where you can see 14,000 cave drawings! and this afternoon ...

Saturday 28th September

The morning started thundery and rainy. John cycled into the town to get some bread and post his postcards to the grandchildren. By the time he got back, the rain had eased off and we headed out for a walk. The weather improved, the skies cleared and the sun came out. It was very hot and humid.
