... hostel, so I got dressed & walked to the town hall square to see if any proceedings were happening that night, but the parade must have gone somewhere else in the town, as they didn’t go to the square. The parade must have just been a prelude to the celebrations the following day. I found a band playing by the cathedral, but that was all. Some of the narrow streets were decorated with Corpus Christi banners.

There were spiders in every corner and my pillowcase was very damp (I can only hope from washing and not from the last pilgrim who used it). ... that would be on our route today until our destination.

Hiking in the rain and when it’s warm outside is not very comfortable. Within two hours, I was soaked even through my rain gear. My shoes, my pants, my shirt were all soaked through and were so for the entire hike. Despite the five hours of rain on a six hour hike, it was very beautiful. We hiked through national forests the entire way and even the rain could not dampen the sights (well, ...

... reading a book and sipping some of the excellent tea the hotel had to offer. I would like to add that I always thought French people would drink nice teas, but every cafe I go to I am offered terrible Lipton Yellow Label. Whenever I find a place that actually uses whole leaf tea available in different types, I am super relieved.

As I mentioned, we had slightly cooler weather today, but that is only because the countryside is preparing ...
