... a geometric masterpiece of trimmed yew and hornbeam, very hard to describe so I hope the photos do it justice. Everything is trimmed and clipped by hand, some shrubs as often as monthly. The vegetable garden was magnificent.  More areas of the gardens are being developed.  It was a cooler, overcast day and the sun came out during our visit just adding to our enjoyment.  We both think it was one of the best gardens we have ever seen, worthy of the claim as one ...

It's dry if a bit cool and the Raven flies along in decent order. The roads are quite empty to start with but then get a lot busier at the start of the afternoon. Guy decides to leave the peage and get to Riberac via the national roads. His memory is, of course, not at all accurate and he doesn't find anywhere that fits his rosy image of the place! So he heads out of Riberac on the Periguex road until he discovers a nice old chateau ...
