    ... with apricots,cherries and almonds with a thin layer of creme patissiere on fine layer of pastry. Spoke to a nice woman next to me who is a hairdresser near Bergerac. My fractured French was Ok.most people informally dressed with no pretensions. Her husband worked in local paper factory..only industry here. Walked to field for foreworks..spectacular with many children enjoying it all.home after midnight. Fun night ...

    Today we spent the day hanging out with other Melbournites in Angouleme. We had a relaxed morning where Mae and Maggie enjoyed a swim in the chilly swimming pool with the frogs (nice picture of them both with their googles on looking at the frogs). Boys played lego and picked blackberries. After a nice lunch of French salami and French cheese we headed down to a local swimming spot in a nearby river.     ... day I walked to Mirador San Nicolas by a different route from my hostel to have one last look at Alhambras. In the afternoon I caught a bus from the railway station to a new railway station out in the countryside in the middle of nowhere. We travelled in the bus for a bit over an hour.     ... close to boiling. So, we ate cold sandwiches and cake. I was very disappointed that I had wasted money and time trying to cook. Seriously, this place should not be allowed to advertise that they have a kitchen. Even though the refuge left a lot to be desired, the company was good. I am glad to be sharing the road with my two new companions who are a lot of fun.

    ... we never stopped for more than 3min at a time. I didn’t enjoy this walk at all. I felt sick and completely exhausted. It’s awkward when your companions are thirty years older than you and are not having the same troubles, but they have both been walking over 30km a day for two months now.
