Ok, well, only Caroline and Terri and a couple of other HP fans will get excited about it, but I thought it was cool.

Booked flight today - Guatemala on Feb 22nd 2010. So to mark the occasion I thought I'd start my travel diary today as well.

... afternoon, we made it into the town of Bath. Di brought us to see the Circus (on a large roundabout) and the Royal Crescent (in a huge, open, green space) – two residential areas with interesting, curving architecture (the Royal Crescent was built by architect John Wood, Jr., in 1767-75).

Previously in the day, the rain had been of the misty kind, but during our stops to the Circus and the Royal Cresent, it turned into a bona fide downpour, so Di loaned ...

We got to Bath and saw the Roman baths which were very interesting, and after that we got to explore Bath on our own. We didn't have much time after taking so long at the Roman Baths, so there wasn't much we could do besides walking around the city and enjoying the architecture surrounding us. ... The Cathedral boasts the tallest spire in all of Europe. As a side note, the spire was an afterthought and actually is off plumb by close to 30 inches. From certain angles you can see the top of the spire leaning slightly. It was this spire that saved the city of Salisbury from bombing in WWII. ... had a long drive in to Switzerland to visit Grindelwald as Sam was really keen to see the Eiger. It was a fun journey. We went part of the way on the car train which was a new experience for us all and we had a good view of Switzerland as we passed through it. We went up in a cable car to about 2000 metres and did some sledging there among the skiers! From there we had a really good view of the triple peaked ridge, The Eiger, Jungfrau and The Monch (Ogre, Virgin and Monk ...

... and my diet coke...it didn't even taste that bad either (we all tried it)! We even got Dr. Schlueter to try it too! He didn't think it was too bad either! Anyway...we finally got back to Wigram in the evening. We decided to go out to eat to Brown's and then go check out the club at Verve. We headed out to Brown's around 8:00 pm. It was a nice dinner and not too expensive. Then, we headed across the street to Verve. We got some drinks to start off ...

... Our next stop was a trip to the Cathedral which was another awe-inspiring event. We don't have to tell you that we spent an hour in this small town trying to find it firstly because there are no signs but secondly there are roads on the map which don't exist so as you plan your journey it all unravels as you proceed......
