As the engines began to fire up, I couldn't help feeling a wave of not only excitement, but realisation that this was finally it; after all these months planning and preparation, here I was sitting on the flight to take me to the first step of my journey! We ended in Museum Park getting photos in front of I AM AMSTERDAM monument. Back to the car about 1900 and a smooth drive to our hotel in Ghent, Belgium. More canals, sun and ...

To see such a variety of wildlife was a special treat, including a majestic stag, which stood still just long enough for me to sneak a photo.
