You could see Cook Island in the distance. There were also amazing rock formations in this area which the Aboriginals believed resembled the Echidna, hence they called the land "Spirit of the Giant Echidna". The rock formations were caused by lava flow from the Mt Warning Volcano.

And the car is in one piece - well as much ...

As I approached, I was greeted by a number of signs warning about the steepness of the road up the mountain. "So what" I thought - this is what cyclists do after all! I got stuck into the climb. It was indeed pretty steep, with one sign saying 18%! After about 2 miles I was
struggling hard. I resisted stopping for as long as possible, as I knew it would ...

... into town. Our hostel is pretty nice and it's called Base Backpackers. All 8 of us are in the same room and the restroom is right outside of our room. It's pretty chilly here, especially compared to Byron and the Gold Coast. We were all starving when we got here so we decided to go to the famous Fergburger. It was really pricey but definitely worth it. I got heaps of chips and a burger that had bacon, cheese, two ...
