We were stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel (which wasn't my first choice but I left it at the last minute to book and this was the only hotel left with the package that included breakfast and entrance passes to SEA, Universal and Waterpark) in May 2013. At least it was the closest hotel to SEA and Universal. Check in was really quick and we were pointed to the direction of the elevators with our key cards and passes in an envelope. The lobby is really dark but they play fantastic music. This is the Hard Rock Hotel, after all. They're definitely not going for bright and cheery. More like grungy and dreary. If the kids weren't with me, I would have had a fabulous time just hanging by the bar listening to the music.
As we approached the elevators, the whole place started to smell really weird. Kind of like a cross between sweat, smoke and alcohol. I had read some of the reviewers complaining about the weird smell. Rooms were huge and spacious. Amenities limited and outdated. Cool retro posters of the Police, Sting, the Beatles on the walls. We had two rooms, connecting, no issues getting someone to come and open the door. Breakfast was fabulous though, even though there is always a line and you have to wait to be seated, the area is huge and the staff is very competent and quick about getting the line moving fast and everyone seated quickly.

Let me just say the breakfast at the Hard Rock Hotel is fabulous. There is a line to be seat but it moves so quickly. The hostess is like a busy little bee, arranging seats for everyone and keeping everyone moving.

We were checking out of Fraser's today. It wasn't really a complicated process. Everything was paid for, we only had to pack and get a cab to Sentosa. While Godwin put everything away, I took Zane down for a last trip to the Playzone. When the bags and the others were in the lobby ready to leave, Zane and I …
Day 12. Saturday. 4th May 2013.
Today we were leaving Singapore via Singapore Airlines Flight SQ 426 departing at 1810. We had a lot of time to have a leisurely breakfast, pack and get to the airport. I considered doing the waterpark before we left, since we had free tickets for it, but it would have been too much. Plus, the boys don't …

... a human to pieces, Emma was slightly concerned. It is one thing to have your clothes whipped off by an Asian ape, quite another for your arms to follow suit.
As it happened they were just heading off to the feeding platform for more grub. We sat and watched as at least 12 apes of all ages swung down the ropes connecting the platform to the canopy. These ranged from big males to little spindly youths to tiny babies clinging to their mothers backs. It was ...
