We were stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel (which wasn't my first choice but I left it at the last minute to book and this was the only hotel left with the package that included breakfast and entrance passes to SEA, Universal and Waterpark) in May 2013. At least it was the closest hotel to SEA and Universal. Check in was really quick and we were pointed to the direction of the elevators with our key cards and passes in an envelope. The lobby is really dark but they play fantastic music. This is the Hard Rock Hotel, after all. They're definitely not going for bright and cheery. More like grungy and dreary. If the kids weren't with me, I would have had a fabulous time just hanging by the bar listening to the music.
As we approached the elevators, the whole place started to smell really weird. Kind of like a cross between sweat, smoke and alcohol. I had read some of the reviewers complaining about the weird smell. Rooms were huge and spacious. Amenities limited and outdated. Cool retro posters of the Police, Sting, the Beatles on the walls. We had two rooms, connecting, no issues getting someone to come and open the door. Breakfast was fabulous though, even though there is always a line and you have to wait to be seated, the area is huge and the staff is very competent and quick about getting the line moving fast and everyone seated quickly.

We had a pass that allowed us access to 20 activities and the most difficult thing was trying to fit as many in as we could. The first thing on the itinerary was something we couldn't do on the pass, simulated skydiving in the worlds …
Today was one full of exploring! We began after a weird dark morning. We woke to a dark sky and thinking it was about 3.00 in the morning, I was shocked to look at my clock and it was 7am! The sun didn't come up until around 7.15. The stone boys slept in until 8 because it was so dark. We had breakfast and then jumped on the monorail to explore the …
... more fake handbags than you can imagine to more (real) designer stores than you can imagine. I need to go back and erase everything about the shopping in bangkok because bangkok has nothing on Singapore shopping. Really. I feel like I need to reevaluate my life in terms of my closet. I'm going to stop talking about this before I get ahead of myself and start stalking about moving here (it hasn't not crossed my ...
