... snow and worked on my powder technique. Powder is not my strong point, as I rarely get to ski any, so having a lesson on a powder was a great experience.

I had lunch at Venga Venga. The salsa was nice, with a smoked taste. The nachos were also very good.

After lunch I skied off Sam’s Knob and Campground lifts. Lower Slot had nobody on it! I love empty runs, but this was almost eery. If not for all the tracks ...

... and by the second half of day 1 were going right to the very top of the mountain which is over 10,000ft to ski the trails down. On the second day it was extremely powdery and there was a High Avalanche warning which was a bit scary but apparently is still fine to ski if you keep to the trails. The soft snow makes it harder to ski and Billy found himself snow up to his waist after trying his skills on an advanced trail - silly billy.

... down ultimately missing the podium and finishing 4th. The very pro-American crowd went crazy as their favourite son, Ted Ligety, skied the perfect second leg to take the win. You have to say that Ligety owns this hill when it comes to Giant Slalom as it was his 5th successive win here on the World Cup circuit. ... covered hilltops of Colorado's Rocky Mountains. Going up was scary but wonderful, going down was even scarier as our horses had to figure out where to place their hooves on the rocky ground. The trail was through beautiful Aspen trees (a type of birch tree) where are gorgeous, and we saw little bits of wildlife (long-tailed chipmunks; funny looking squirrels, other little critters). ...

... to the bears too!). Gracie was responsible for pretty yard and Pam was thrilled with how it all came out - no kidding!. We all got along like a house on fire and had to pry ourselves away so they could get ready for a dinner date. They too looked really happy together which was wonderful to see.
