    More Missouri

We saw more of rural Missouri today. Our first stop was Wilson's Creek National Battlefield, which was the first major Civil War battle west of the Mississippi. It also saw the first Union general killed in combat. This site is very similar to the one we saw yesterday...driving tour with several stops to get out and look around. But, honestly, the land at a battlefield is just generally ...

I miss this feeling at times, although the majority of my thoughts today had to do something about how much I love these people I am surrounded by and how this trip has restored my appreciation for the beautiful life I live and the opportunities I have been given. Bike and build has given me the chance to take a step back, take a breath, and just enjoy the intricacies of life that I so ...

Started the day is Strafford with heavy rain and decided to postpone leaving until it eased. Once on the road I travelled through Springfield on my way to Wilson's Creek Battlefield. This was the site of the second battle of the American Civil War west of the Mississippi and the first battle in which a Union General was killed. To look at the site now you would never believe a battle had been fought there and there is very little evidence visible that there was once a mill on the site. I ...

An interesting day today. Started with the biggest rocking chair ever, then a number of old towns, cafes, trading posts and diners. Visited Red Oak 2 which is a collection of old buildings brought together a bit like St Fagans. Found a Box Turtle on the road -these have a hinged carapace at front and back which means its head and feet can be completely enclosed. Had a Mexican meal tonight but not sure ...
