... then we rushed the last 3/4 in about 5 minutes! We finally got to Ito and collected our car for three days. This region doesn't feature in the Lonely Planet but is a popular tourist spot for Japanese. We head south down the coast road and there are some lovely views. Quickly continuing with Omuro-yama, since I wanted to see a vulcano up close (yes, first time!). Unfortunately it's not allowed to climb it, so I had to take a cable car to the ...

... in a pool, before heading out to the bay in the afternoon. Scuba diving, for those who haven`t done it, comes highly recommended: we saw an array of catfish, electric blue and orange fish, a few eels, lionfish, lots of cool stuff, even though the visibility was at times limited.
Unfortunately the journey home was less fun: it started badly when Gabe, his head still full of salt water and slightly dizzy after the pressure changes, got car sick and vomited. It got worse when we ...
