It was a bright, bright sunshiney day :-D Sooo lovely to see blue skies!! We started with a walk around the Kawazu Seven Waterfalls then headed north up the east coast of Izu Peninsula to the spectacular Jogasaki coastline, the suspension bridge and flower gardens. Then on to Mt Omuro, an extinct volcano covered in grass. We rode the chairlift up the very steep slope and at ...

We chilled out reading books this morning while it was pouring rain it was enjoyably relaxing. The rain started to ease off about 10 and we set off for a drive around the coastline of the Izu peninsula. It's not very far, just as well as the speed limit is 40 or 50km throughout the region. The drive in parts is quite ...

We had wanted to have dinner in the Winery itself, they pride themselves for the delicious food that is served there. But as it turns out they only serve lunch at the Winery and we are told we can have dinner at the hotel and that it will be a dinner made with local products. After trying to communicate with the ...

... foot bath in the park. Our hotel is located south of Shimoda and to get there the GPS tells us to take a narrow, winding uphill road, we end up in a beautiful location on a hilltop overlooking the ocean and several small islands. The vegetation is very lush and tropical, there are many palm trees and tropical plants. The staff at the registration desk of the Shimoda Tokyu Hotel does its very best to speak English. The ...
