Lovely day, rode from St. Clair to Lebanon.....boiling hot (100 degrees ), felt like in fan assisted oven. Steve is now a members of 2 biking gangs already, went for lunch and a fab ride with BIllie and went for iconic lunch on 66... Great! ... temperature was pretty comfortable reaching down into the mid 40's, but it rained all freaking night. It never got too hard, but it also never really stopped either until it was time to wake up. Overall, the area got about a 1/2 inch of rain overnight. Luckily, my tent held and I was able to stay dry. This would actually be the only time I had to deal with rain on any of the nights that I camped out.
... a beautiful sunset from my balcony overlooking Lake Ozark, I hurried to the store to get the necessary ingredients. I had to hurry because this was also the night of the season premier of the best show on TV, The Walking Dead!
The steak ended up being great and the show was entertaining as well. The night was very comfortable staying in the suite and I would definitely recommend a visit to Osage Beach for anyone ever passing through the area.
Sunday, Oct. 5th, shoved off from St. Louis for a stressful drive to the Lake of the Ozarks. First the busy 4 laners with the tractor trailers and then the most winding roads ever and absolutely not a single amount of a shoulder anywhere! If you drift even slightly off the edge of the road, forget it. Your vehicle will be rolling around down the bank. Jim drove and I'm sure it was stressful for him. Absolutely no margin for error ...
... of his program for the kids (they were AWESOME...very excited group), we passed out foam clown noses and flyers to everyone, and gave the birthday boy a free ticket to the circus.
One of the highlights of the daycare was when J.P. was challenged to a moon walking contest by one of the older kids...hahaha. Even in size 18 shoes, he managed to pull off a pretty respectable moon walk while playing ...
