... you will wish your bed was a lifesize tub of Nivea, and when the wind blows grains of sand will lodge themselves into every exposed crevice of your body. ... flight that we have taken during this entire trip, we had to scratch it. It was still cool to see one in person though.

Now sitting around a little cafe run by a Slovakian guy and his Chilean wife we're still in a good mood. I'm guessing things will turn soon though. The second half will involve a lot of sitting around idly at a bus station late into the night. 5 hours down, 7 to go.

We are only staying at this hostel for 2 nights, and as we are planning to do some trips and excursions at San Pedro de Atacama we aren't doing anything today. Instead we wandered the town some more, explored a little further out and walked to the bus station to book our bus tickets for tomorrow. When we get back to the hostel at around 2 there is a fish market just next door that's closing up, we had bought some salad bits from the supermarket ...
