We stopped at the port of Corfu. The only way to really get around the island is to take an excursion. At least it was for us. We were going to see a Monastery in the village of Palaiokastritsa and to the village of Gastouri to visit the 19th century Achilleion Palace.
The places were very beautiful and again the excursions didn't disappoint ...

While they were here, they brought with them supplies from home. Coffee, sweets, onesie and a selection of England merchandise for the World Cup, what a lot of good they did! I should also mention here that, contrary to what the packaging says, Tesco's World Cup face paints aren't waterproof. I found that out after the final whistle against Uruguay, and it wasn't because it was raining outside.

... buildings collapse. The owners were then supposed to clean it up but they haven't. So there are a lot of incomplete buildings and quite a number of collapsed ones. I am not keen to hang around, the bus is delaying, so I offer a local taxi 300 leke ($3) to take me the last 6 kms. Dear for here but in my mind money well spent.
