    Lunch with an old friend

A travel blog entry by daniel.swiss on Jun 10, 2015

Today I had lunch with an old friend of mine, one of the last people I still know at my first employer. We remembered the "good old days", and we caught up with the kid's stories. I realized that his youngest is now 15; the last time I saw him, he was ...

    Day 3: Bonn

A travel blog entry by alanad.abroad on Jun 03, 2015

Today we decided to go check out the old part of Bonn. So we decided to head out again with Phil. We said good bye to Phil on the train and he headed to his UN meetings. We rode the train a few more stops.

... apparently this is a common thing in Switzerland, all the shops are also closed on Sundays as well. Can you imagine the outcry if NZ did this!!

So from here we headed to the supermarket to pick up some food for lunch and then to the tier park which is a wild animal park. We got some animal food and wandered into the park, straight away the deer were coming up to us, they sure know which gate to wait at as everyone ...

... the Jura and vineyards on our left. There was also some industry interspersed, particularly as we got closer to Lausanne. We arrived back this afternoon and had a nap before slowly getting ready for dinner. As it was a Michelin starred restaurant, we all dressed for the occasion (to the extent that our limited clothes allowed). At dinner the girls said 'bonsoir' and 'merci' very politely. There were other families with children there all behaving impeccably, and I explained ...
