    Day 13: Assisi

A travel blog entry by creeky on Jul 18, 2015

Today was a relative boring one, due to the 5 1/2 hours we had to spend on the bus. The usual stops for toilets or lunch continued as normal. When we finally arrived at Assisi we drove past the Santa Maria deli Angeli, the church at which St. Francis started his order of Monks and eventually died. We drove for a few more minutes ...

Legend says the city was built by Asio, brother of the Queen of Troy but no one really knows. Apparently only 6000 people live in the city centre. Our hotel, the Hotel Ideale Turisti, is lovely and has magnificent views of Assisi. Rosanne is the most superb chooser of hotels and B and B's. She could easily go into business. ...
