Here I am at Rome at the airport after my long flight which took a bit more than 20 hours of actual flight time it was a long flight I was lucky that we had a stop in Dubai to break up the flight as it was getting very boring just sitting on the plane watching TV and trying to sleep.

We eventually have up with no luck and decided to go to the hotel down the block and call from there. Hotel Michelangelo is a very fancy hotel. Probably up there with the Palliser in Calgary. We explained our issue to the front desk man and he begrudgingly dialed the number for us and shoved the handset in my face "you speak!" ...

... Rome very quickly became a place where we felt like we could not trust anyone, ever. We also felt compelled to be in our hotel room each day by the time the sun set, which was a shame. The sun went down at about 4:30 in Rome.
